About

What is Feeling Sew Good?

Feeling Sew Good is a blog that chronicles my adventures in vintage sewing. This is where I share my latest projects and provide you with a variety of techniques and tips related to vintage sewing. Sewing vintage clothing has been a passion of mine for the last few years. I began sewing when I was an eleven year old girl. Now in my twenties, my design sensibility and technique has come a long way. I still have a lot to learn about sewing and I hope to share my experiences and challenges with you. I want to inspire you! As the title of my blog suggests, I want you to "Feel Sew Good" about vintage sewing.

What decades do you cover?

I am interested in fashion from almost all decades but to be more specific, I will cover fashions ranging from the 1920's to the 1960's. I was considering including all the way up to the 1990's but there is much debate over whether or not the 90's has become "vintage" yet. I had one post related to the 90's which I removed and I may repost it or move it to another blog in the future. I may just run two different blogs, so that I can keep the 1970's - 1990's  separate.

Who are you?

I'm a plain Jane stuck in a time capsule! I have been passionate about vintage clothing ever since I was a little girl. I loved to look through old photo albums to see what my family members used to wear. I adored the dresses, the jewelry and the cat eye glasses. I've never outgrown my fascination with older things. I collect vintage patterns and spend many a weekend antique and thrift store shopping. I enjoy reading old books and watching classic movies, especially horror films. My favorite fashion decade is the 1950's!

Beyond my interest in vintage things, I have a strong love for animals and nature. I like to go hiking because it brings me peace and seeing local animals is a treat. I love warm rain and summer nights. I am strongly interested in culture, art and history and I enjoy visiting museums. I also have a geekish side which adores horror, video games and sushi.
